Chelsea Flower Show 2017

I've got to be one of the luckiest photographers around because every May I get to photograph the amazing Chelsea Flower Show for the RHS shows and marketing team. 2017 was my fourth time working at this wonderful event and once again we were incredibly lucky with the weather, wall to wall sunshine after a dreadfully wet week beforehand. Here's just a few of the hundreds of pictures I took at last year's show, can't wait to be back again soon!

Documentary Coverage of University Graduations

Back in February I was booked to photograph the Spring graduations for the University of Northampton. Rather than take hundreds of posed shots I was asked to capture the atmosphere and vibe of the event, which was great as that's just the kind of thing I love to photograph most. It was a bit surreal going to a university graduation ceremony, after all the last one I went to was my own over a decade ago, but it was really lovely seeing all the students celebrating their achievements with friends and family. I really enjoyed being part of this event! 

Flo Pro Catalogue Photography

On one of the hottest days last summer I was out in a beautiful garden photographing Flo Pro's glossy new 2018 catalogue. It felt pretty appropriate to be dashing round with sprinklers and hoses given the weather and I had a great day with some amazing models who really helped bring the products to life. My brief was for lively, fun pictures and punchy colours to fit in with the company branding. Here's some shots of how the brochure turned out.

Garden TOOLS CATALOGUE Photography

I really enjoy working in gardens and recently shot a new catalogue for garden product company Kent and Stowe. The brief was for warm and earthy pictures to fir with the brand's identity and I just love how luxurious the new brochure feels!

Interior Deisgn Magazine Feature

I always enjoy meeting creative people and love it when I get the chance to photograph them at work, so I was really excited to meet interior designer Yasmin Chopin for a recent magazine shoot in Cambridgeshire. It was important to get some shots of Yasmin working with her client as well as some interiors showcasing her work within one of the finished rooms to accompany this feature on enhancing your home with the help of an interior designer. I used several lighting setups for each angle of the room to achieve a crisp and clean look to the images which is always a rewarding challenge! You can see the feature in the January 2016 edition of Image Magazine.

CHAZWINKLES PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

In early 2015 I was commissioned to photograph the re-branding for preserve and chutney company Chazwinkles. This included a mixture of more traditional product photography with some extra lifestyle photography of the preserves in situ. Rather than making the lifestyle images too tidy and neat I was asked to give these shots s a more authentic feel, leaving in open lids, spoons and copious amount of wonderful crumbs! The images were shot with web and print design in mind and have recently been used to prominently on Not on the High Street. As a commercial photographer in Peterborough it was great to work with Chazwinkles who are also local to the area, just down the road from me in fact! I was lucky enough to sample some of the gorgeous preserves too, the cucumber being my own, personal favourite.

Flo Pro Product Photoshoot

In 2016 I spent a few days in the sunshine shooting several images for Flo Pro, a company who make garden watering equipment. The brief with this project was to shoot clear and crisp images with saturated greens to marry up with Flo Pro's colourful branding. It was important to show the products in use as well as how they could be put together. Here's a few images from the shoot.

Product Photography for Park&James Shoes

I don't know about you but I always struggle for beautiful shoes that are also comfortable. Well after this shoot for the new Park&James website I know where to go next time. My brief for this shoot was to take individual product shots of the shoes and as well as some lifestyle images. I was asked not to overly pose the models or feet and instead take a more 'snapshot' approach to help the images look natural.

Dobbies garden centre photography peterborough

During the brand's expansion in 2011, Dobbies opened its first store in Peterborough. I spent the centre's opening day photographing all areas of the store, including the beautiful foodhall, restaurant and expansive outdoor plant area. Of course, I also had a good browse round afterwards and came home with a little more cheese and chutney than originally planned!
